  3. Extol is a metal band from Oslo, Norway, formed in Their style has varied and they have always kept a unique sound. They have shown influences from death metal, black metal, thrash metal, and progressive metal all at some time in their career. The band was formed by drummer David Husvik and guitarist Christer Espevoll, who had been playing together and wanted to start a band.
  4. As always, EXTOL continue to explore their high musical skills and visions, but here in a more straightforward and tangible way than on “Synergy”. After a decade of song writing, “Blueprint” contains the band’s most diverse material and without a doubt EXTOL’s heaviest and most energetic sound.
  5. And reviewing an album like "Blueprint" which has received a critical flogging can be difficult too as its easy just to write it off without really giving it a proper listen. Well, I'm trying really hard to be honest about how I feel about albums, so here goes nothing. Extol's latest album is excellent!/5(20).
  6. After virtually reinventing themselves with their third full album, Synergy (which saw them abandoning much of their original death metal fury in favor of a more light-handed, rock approach), Norway's prolific Extol proceeded to clean house prior to recording their fourth, 's The Blueprint Dives.
  7. Jan 18,  · 2nd song from one of my favourite albums ever, "The Blueprint Dives". 2nd song from one of my favourite albums ever, "The Blueprint Dives". Extol - Soul Deprived YouTube.
  8. Extol Format: Audio CD. out of 5 stars 20 ratings. When I read somewhere that their album, The Blueprint Dives, had more a ambient and melodic approach inspired by bands like Cult of Luna (I'm a post-rock/post-metal nerd) or artists like Devin Townsend (who is partly responsible for my expanded tastes in music), I naturally wanted /5(20).
  9. Extol has usually been a band of progressive technical black/death/thrash metal variation since their first release back in the 90's. However, the Blueprint Dives is obviously the album that the group has aimed to break the mold with. Let me say first that if you are a fan of death metal and/or black metal, you may not appreciate this album fully.
